Big update in the new build!


It's been a few weeks since the last update, and I've finally managed to get the systems working smoothly! Here's a quick recap of what I've updated, and a little roadmap of what to expect going forward.


The New Changes

  • The Map: Within the map, you can set the order of your upcoming encounters, rather than just moving from node-to-node. 
  • New encounter type! Your party can now take a break at a campfire to recover a bit of health.
  • Shaders, new icons, and a bit of overall visual polish to most areas. There are still a lot of visual updates coming, but this marks the first step towards... the next step.
  • Sheep
  • Obviously, the game has been renamed
  • Tons of other little bugfixes and improvements

The map is the biggest and most exciting update this time. It's a core component of the game, and future updates will extend and improve this feature into other areas of the game.


Roadmap

There are two key updates that I'm working on: a new boss and new encounters. Once that is done, I'll start homing in on the visual identity of this project and deciding what it will look like. The cats will stay, obviously, but they won't look the same (hopefully better!). This will be a huge change but won't break functionality the way the Map did, so I should be able to update more frequently.

For now, I'm focusing on gathering feedback, so I would love to hear your thoughts: what's fun, what's not, and what you would want to see in the final version.

After that, I'll get working to actually build that final version.
